Prescription Policy
Sunhauk Prescription Policy
At Sunhauk, we are committed to providing high-quality eyewear that meets exact medical standards. Because prescription sunglasses are regulated medical devices, we follow a strict verification process to ensure your vision and eye health are protected.
1. Valid Prescription Requirement
All orders for prescription lenses must be accompanied by a valid, unexpired prescription issued by a licensed eye care professional (Optometrist or Ophthalmologist).
-
Expiration: We cannot fulfill orders using expired prescriptions. If your prescription does not have an expiration date, we will follow the standard legal limit defined by your specific state or region (typically 1–2 years).
-
Completeness: Your prescription must include your Sphere (SPH), Cylinder (CYL), Axis, and a Pupillary Distance (PD).
2. Submission & Verification Process
To ensure 100% accuracy, we utilize a multi-step verification system:
-
Digital Upload: During checkout, you must upload a clear photo or PDF of your prescription via our Secure Provider Portal.
-
Initial Review: Our team checks the document for legibility and ensures all necessary doctor information (name, clinic, and contact details) is present.
-
Laboratory Certification: Before fabrication begins, the lab’s opticians perform a clinical review to ensure the lens parameters are viable for the frame selected.
3. Verification Holds
If our laboratory identifies a discrepancy, an expired date, or a missing Pupillary Distance (PD), your order will be placed on a Verification Hold.
-
We will contact you via email to request a corrected document.
-
Production time begins only after the prescription has been successfully verified.
4. Right to Cancel
Sunhauk LLC reserves the right to cancel any order if a valid prescription cannot be provided or verified. In the event of a cancellation due to an invalid prescription, a full refund will be issued to the original payment method.
5. Order Cancellations
At Sunhauk, we pride ourselves on industry-leading processing times. To achieve this, prescription orders are transmitted to our optical laboratory for custom fabrication immediately upon verification.
All Sales Final: Because each lens is custom-surfaced to your unique prescription and frame selection, we are unable to cancel or modify orders once they have been submitted.
Non-Reusable Materials: As these are regulated medical devices unique to your vision needs, the materials cannot be repurposed or restocked.
Pre-Order Review: We strongly encourage all customers to double-check their prescription details and frame selection before completing their purchase.
6. Promotions & Special Offers
Please note that the "Buy 1 Get 2 Free" promotion (and similar site-wide offers) applies only to standard non-prescription eyewear. Prescription lenses, Reading glasses, Blue Light blocking lenses, and all other custom lens types are strictly excluded from these promotions. Custom optical labor and materials are billed at their standard rates and cannot be discounted through multi-pair bundles. Any promotional eligibility for prescription items will be expressly stated within the terms of the individual offer.
7. Production & Shipping Timelines
Every pair of Sunhauk prescription lenses is custom-engineered to your specific vision needs. To ensure the highest optical standards, please note the following estimated timelines:
-
Custom Lens Production: Standard fabrication typically takes 7–14 business days, depending on the complexity of your prescription.
-
Premium Mirror Finishes: Because our mirror coatings involve a specialized, multi-layer application process, please allow an additional 5 business days for fabrication.
-
Shipping & Transit: Once your eyewear passes our final quality check and leaves our laboratory, please allow an additional 3–6 business days for standard shipping delivery.
-
Prescription & Non-Prescription Items: If your order contains both prescription and non-prescription items, they may ship separately and arrive on different dates. Non-prescription items may ship before your prescription eyewear is completed.
Please note that expedited shipping services may not be available for prescription eyewear due to the custom manufacturing process. If your order contains eligible non-prescription items, those items may still ship using the expedited service selected at checkout.
If we are unable to provide the expedited shipping service purchased, any applicable expedited shipping fees will be refunded automatically.
You will receive an automated email with tracking information as soon as your order has been dispatched.
Expedited Shipping Exceptions: Please note that expedited shipping only applies to standard, non-custom items. Because our checkout system cannot dynamically hide shipping options based on cart contents, expedited shipping will still appear as an option at checkout for custom lenses. However, if your order only contains custom prescription lenses, expedited shipping is unavailable, and any expedited shipping fees paid will be fully and automatically refunded.
8. Quality Control & Failed Inspections
To ensure your safety and visual clarity, every lens must pass a rigorous multi-point clinical inspection. If a lens fails to meet our strict tolerance standards for optical precision or coating integrity, it is immediately rejected and sent back for priority re-fabrication.
In the rare event of a failed inspection, your order may require additional production time. We believe it is better to ensure your eyewear is perfect before it leaves our lab than to ship a product that does not meet our quality guarantee.
